Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday inaugurated the Regional Business Centre of Jammu and Kashmir Bank at Rail Head Complex, Jammu, marking a significant milestone in the bank’s expansion and modernisation journey.
Congratulating the bank’s leadership and staff, the Lieutenant Governor described the facility as a major step towards strengthening institutional capacity and improving service delivery. The newly established centre is designed as a comprehensive operational and administrative hub, equipped with advanced infrastructure and enhanced customer interface systems.
The integrated, technology-enabled facility is expected to play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, deepening market penetration and supporting the bank’s vision of sustainable and inclusive growth across regions.
On the occasion, Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee informed that the bank’s total business has crossed ₹2.90 lakh crore, underlining its strong financial performance. He termed the commissioning of the centre as a decisive step towards strengthening the bank’s business architecture in a key growth region.
The new centre houses a currency chest, a state-of-the-art branch, multiple departmental offices, and dedicated operational units, significantly boosting administrative efficiency and backend support. Officials said the facility will enable faster decision-making, improved coordination and superior customer service.
Senior officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari, and other senior bank and government functionaries, were present at the inaugural ceremony.
