Examiner Bureau | Srinagar: Authorities in Saudi Arabia have announced that the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted anywhere in the Kingdom, confirming that Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Friday, March 20.
According to an official update shared by Haramain Sharifain, extensive efforts to sight the crescent marking the beginning of Shawwal 1447 AH proved unsuccessful. Consequently, the holy month of Ramadan will complete a full 30 days before the festival is celebrated.
The announcement brings clarity and puts an end to widespread speculation regarding the date of Eid, one of the most significant Islamic festivals that marks the conclusion of the fasting month of Ramadan.
