Examiner Bureau | Srinagar:

Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health and Education Sakina Itoo on Saturday issued a stern warning against corruption, asserting that no officer found accepting bribes would be spared under any circumstances.

The minister’s remarks come days after the government attached a senior education officer in Baramulla district following complaints of alleged corruption.

Speaking on the sidelines of a function at the Government Degree College for Women in Baramulla, Itoo said that strict action would be taken against any official found involved in corrupt practices. “If there is any information against any officer, especially related to bribery, action will be taken. Such officers will not be spared,” she said.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency, she said the National Conference administration led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is acting on every credible complaint.

Responding to criticism over recent actions, the minister questioned what she described as a contradictory approach by detractors. She said that while some allege inaction, they also raise concerns when the government initiates action, calling for a more consistent and constructive response.
