National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday expressed concern over a possible fuel and gas crisis, warning that escalating global tensions and geopolitical instability could severely impact the economy.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Dr Abdullah said the region was heading towards a period of economic uncertainty due to the growing international crisis.
“We are going towards a crisis, a fuel crisis, a gas crisis and heading towards destruction,” he said, cautioning that prolonged instability in global markets could create serious challenges for people and businesses alike.
The veteran leader said the situation demands urgent attention and stressed the need to find a way out before the crisis deepens further.
“If the current situation continues, it is difficult to predict what consequences the economy may face,” he added.
Dr Abdullah’s remarks come amid rising concerns over global energy supplies and the economic fallout of ongoing geopolitical conflicts affecting international fuel and gas markets.
