Continuing its sustained crackdown against narcotics cultivation and trafficking, Anantnag Police achieved another success in its anti-drug drive in the Dooru area.
Acting on specific input developed by the concerned Beat Officer of Police Station Dooru regarding illegal cultivation of poppy on a land patch at Tumripora Dooru, a police team from Police Station Dooru, along with an Executive Magistrate and officials from the Agriculture Department, carried out a joint operation at the identified site.
During the operation, the illegal poppy cultivation was detected and destroyed on the spot in accordance with established legal procedures.
In this connection, FIR No. 70/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dooru, and further investigation has been initiated.
Police reiterated their commitment to making the district drug-free and urged the public to actively share information regarding illegal drug cultivation and trafficking to assist enforcement agencies in curbing the menace.
