J&K Govt Announces Summer Vacations for Schools in Jammu Division Summer Zone

Primary classes to close from June 1, while vacations for Classes 6 to 12 will begin from June 8 amid rising temperatures and prevailing weather conditions.

Sakina Itoo on Saturday announced summer vacations for schools falling under the Summer Zone of Jammu Division in view of the prevailing weather conditions and rising temperatures.

According to the minister, summer vacations for primary classes will commence from June 1, 2026, while students of Classes 6th to 12th will observe vacations from June 8, 2026.

“Keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions, summer vacations for schools falling under the Summer Zone of Jammu Division shall commence with effect from June 1, 2026 for Primary Classes,” Itoo said.

She further stated that vacations for students of Classes 6th to 12th will begin from June 8, 2026.

The decision has been taken amid increasing temperatures across Jammu region, with authorities aiming to ensure the safety and well-being of students during the summer season.
