PAHALGAM, May 30: In preparation for the Annual Amarnath Yatra 2026, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir chaired a high-level review meeting in Pahalgam to assess and finalize arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the pilgrimage.
The meeting was attended by senior civil and police officials, representatives of various government departments, and district administration officers associated with the management of the yatra. Discussions focused on strengthening infrastructure, enhancing security arrangements, traffic management, healthcare facilities, sanitation, power and water supply, and emergency response mechanisms along the pilgrimage routes.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, presented a detailed overview of the preparations undertaken by the district administration. He highlighted ongoing developmental works, accommodation facilities for pilgrims, sanitation measures, healthcare services, and inter-departmental coordination efforts aimed at ensuring a hassle-free pilgrimage.
Reviewing the preparedness, the Divisional Commissioner stressed the importance of close coordination among all stakeholders and directed concerned departments to complete all pending works well ahead of the commencement of the yatra.
He underscored the administration’s commitment to providing a safe, comfortable and seamless pilgrimage experience for devotees visiting the holy cave shrine and called for strict adherence to timelines and operational plans.
Officials informed the meeting that all necessary arrangements are being executed on a priority basis and that preparations are progressing according to schedule to ensure the successful conduct of the Annual Amarnath Yatra 2026.
