Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, Sanjeev Verma has directed election officials to undertake a house-to-house exercise to identify and enrol eligible voters whose names are not on the electoral roll, with particular focus on young and first-time electors.

Verma issued the directions while chairing a meeting with District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to review the enrolment of left-out and newly eligible electors under the process of continuous updation.

He called for special attention to eligible persons who have attained the qualifying age for registration but have not yet been enrolled in the electoral roll.

The CEO directed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to conduct house-to-house visits and remain accessible to eligible electors seeking assistance with enrolment and related forms.

The BLOs were also asked to facilitate the proper filling and submission of forms, particularly in cases where applicants face difficulties during the enrolment process.

The exercise is aimed at ensuring that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.

Verma reiterated his commitment to maintaining an accurate and inclusive electoral roll in Jammu and Kashmir.
