Qatar is preparing to announce a new regional defence partnership aimed at strengthening its military capabilities, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has said.

In a separate development, Israeli security forces have arrested 10 suspects in connection with violent incidents reported over the weekend in the occupied West Bank.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed hope that the Islamic world could resolve its challenges and differences through dialogue at a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baghdad, Iraq.

Araghchi’s remarks came as regional tensions continued to shape diplomatic discussions among Muslim-majority countries.

Separately, a military spokesperson for Yemen’s Houthi movement claimed that Saudi aircraft had carried out 110 air strikes and missile attacks in Yemen over the preceding 24 hours. The claim could not be independently verified from the information available.

The developments highlight continuing security concerns across the region, alongside diplomatic efforts to address differences and strengthen regional cooperation.
