At least eighteen people were injured, four of them critically, after a tempo traveller met with an accident at Tralla near Crusher Morh on the Darhal–Rajouri road in Rajouri district on Sunday.
According to officials, the vehicle (registration number JK02AG-5946) lost control and veered off the road, plunging into nearby fields and injuring all passengers onboard.
Locals, along with police and emergency teams, immediately launched a rescue operation. All injured passengers were promptly shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Associated Hospital Rajouri for treatment.
Hospital authorities confirmed that all eighteen injured were admitted, with four in critical condition who have been moved to a specialised ward for advanced care. The hospital’s emergency department has been placed on high alert to ensure uninterrupted and timely treatment.
MLA Thanamandi Muzaffar Iqbal Khan visited the hospital and directed officials to provide the best possible medical care to the injured. He noted that, fortunately, no fatalities were reported in the incident.
Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Malikzada Sheraz-ul-Haq, stated that doctors are closely monitoring the patients and any decision regarding referrals to higher medical centres will be taken based on medical assessment.
Authorities have initiated further investigation into the cause of the accident.
