The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has constituted a three-member enquiry committee to investigate reports of indiscipline and alleged anti-party activities within its Jammu and Kashmir unit.

According to an official statement issued by Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, the proposal was approved by the Congress President and has come into effect with immediate effect.

The committee will be headed by Shaktisinh Gohil as Convenor, while Amar Singh and Rafeek Khan will serve as its members.

The panel has been entrusted with examining allegations of indiscipline and anti-party activities reported within the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and is expected to submit its findings to the party leadership.

The Congress leadership, however, has not disclosed a timeline for the completion of the inquiry or provided details regarding the specific allegations under investigation.

The move is part of the party’s internal disciplinary and organisational review mechanism aimed at addressing concerns related to party functioning and maintaining organisational discipline.
