Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will flag off the first batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims from Jammu at 4:00 am on July 2, Divisional Commissioner Jammu announced on Monday.
Addressing the media, the Divisional Commissioner said the Jammu administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure the safe, secure and smooth movement of pilgrims during the annual pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath cave shrine.
He said all departments concerned have been directed to work in close coordination to provide essential services and ensure the seamless conduct of the Yatra.
The Divisional Commissioner further announced that online registration for the pilgrimage will commence from tomorrow. To facilitate devotees, dedicated registration assistance centres have been set up at the Tawi Riverfront and Mahajan Sabha, where officials will assist pilgrims in completing the registration process and provide necessary guidance.
He appealed to pilgrims to complete the registration process well in advance and strictly follow the guidelines and advisories issued by the administration to ensure a safe and hassle-free pilgrimage.
The annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is scheduled to commence on July 3, with thousands of pilgrims from across the country expected to pass through the Jammu base camp before proceeding to the holy cave shrine in the Kashmir Himalayas.
