A full-dress rehearsal for the Independence Day celebrations was held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on Thursday, with security personnel, police contingents and other participating teams taking part in the final preparations for the August 15 function.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg oversaw the rehearsal as officials reviewed the arrangements for the Union Territory-level Independence Day programme to be held at the stadium.

During the rehearsal, participating contingents conducted the ceremonial parade and other scheduled activities, providing officials an opportunity to assess the preparedness and coordination of various teams ahead of the main event.

The exercise was aimed at ensuring that all arrangements, including the parade, ceremonial proceedings and participation of different contingents, are executed smoothly on Independence Day.

Officials reviewed the overall readiness of the venue and participating teams as part of the final run-through before the August 15 celebrations.

The full-dress rehearsal marked the final stage of preparations at Bakshi Stadium, where the Union Territory-level Independence Day function will be held.
