A 45-year-old woman was killed in a road accident after an SUV collided with a Tata Mobile vehicle in the Akhal area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, officials said.
According to officials, the accident occurred near Akhal when a Scorpio collided with a Tata Mobile, leaving the woman critically injured.
She was immediately shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared her brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Naseema Begum, 45, wife of Nazir Ahmad Ahanger and a resident of Akhal, Kangan.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
