At least six people are feared dead and four to five others injured in a road accident in the Surankote area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Wednesday evening, officials said.
According to officials, the accident occurred near the Shiendra area of Surankote, prompting an immediate rescue and emergency response.
A news agency KNO report, quoting an official, said that at least six people were feared to have lost their lives in the accident, while four to five others sustained injuries.
The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby health facility for medical treatment. Their condition was not immediately known.
Authorities have initiated further proceedings to ascertain the circumstances that led to the accident. Details regarding the vehicle involved, the identities of the victims and the exact cause of the mishap are awaited.
