Two Hand Grenades Recovered from Man During Naka Checking in Baramulla

Security forces recovered two hand grenades from a man during a naka checking operation at Wussan Bangil in the Kunzer area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.

The man, identified as Shakir Nabi Lone, a resident of Hardu Aboora in Kunzer, was intercepted during a checking operation conducted by a joint team comprising personnel from Police Station Kunzer, SOG Kunzer, CRPF 176 Battalion and the Army’s 2 Rashtriya Rifles.

According to officials, Lone allegedly attempted to flee after noticing the security personnel but was apprehended at the spot.

A subsequent personal search led to the recovery of two hand grenades from his possession, officials said.

Following the recovery, police registered FIR No. 115/2026 at Police Station Kunzer under relevant provisions of law.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the grenades and the circumstances surrounding their possession.
