A private car caught fire inside the Sonamarg Tunnel in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday, triggering a swift response from Fire and Emergency Services personnel. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
Officials said a Duster car suddenly caught fire while it was passing through the tunnel.
Soon after the incident was reported, Fire and Emergency Services personnel reached the spot and launched firefighting operations. The blaze was brought under control within a short time, officials said.
There were no reports of injuries or loss of life in the incident, officials confirmed.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
