Examiner Bureau | Bandipora:

Vehicular movement along designated routes in Bandipora district will remain suspended from 5 am to 2 pm on Sunday in view of the Wular Ultra Marathon-3.0, Traffic Police Rural Kashmir said in an advisory issued on Saturday.

The marathon will begin from BSF Headquarters, Maddar, and proceed towards NHPC Pethkote before returning to Chewa via Kangrichowk through the Wular Vantage Road.

Traffic Police has advised motorists to avoid the notified marathon corridor during the restricted hours and plan their journeys accordingly. Diversions have been put in place to facilitate the movement of vehicles and minimise inconvenience to commuters.

As per the advisory, Srinagar-bound traffic originating from Gurez, Bandipora town and Bandipora Bus Stand will be diverted through the Bandipora-Sopore road. The same route will be used for traffic travelling in the opposite direction.

Similarly, Bandipora- and Gurez-bound traffic from Srinagar will be routed through Narbal, Pattan and Sopore before proceeding towards Bandipora.

Traffic travelling from Ganderbal towards Bandipora will be diverted through Sumbal, Naidkhai and Sopore, with the same route applicable for return journeys.

Traffic Police has urged commuters to cooperate with personnel deployed along the routes and strictly follow the notified diversions during the event.
