An Army personnel was detained at the drop gate of Srinagar International Airport after suspected contraband was allegedly recovered from his baggage, according to media reports on Sunday.
The personnel was apprehended by police and CRPF personnel on Saturday during a checking operation, following the recovery of 213 grams of poppy straw and 69 grams of a substance suspected to be cannabis, the reports said.
The recovered substances were seized by the security personnel for further examination and investigation.
Further details regarding the identity of the personnel, the circumstances surrounding the recovery and any subsequent legal action were awaited.
