The Jammu and Kashmir Government has redesignated senior IAS officer Chandraker Bharti (AGMUT: 1996) as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) following his promotion to the Apex Scale of the Indian Administrative Service.

According to Government Order No. 1615-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on October 8, the redesignation follows Bharti’s promotion to Level-17 of the Pay Matrix by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The promotion was conveyed through an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs under endorsement No. 14016/24/2025-UTS.I dated September 25, 2026.

The government order states that Bharti assumed charge in the Apex Scale with effect from October 1, 2026. Consequently, he has been formally redesignated as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary).
