Examiner Bureau | Kashtwar:

A 55-year-old Special Police Officer (SPO), identified as Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Trigham in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, has gone missing along with his weapon, prompting police and security forces to launch a search operation.

Ahmed was posted at Police Picket Trigham, located around 12–15 kilometres from the district headquarters in Kishtwar.

Police sources said all possible angles were being examined to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Heavy rainfall was reported in the area on Thursday morning, around the time he went missing.

According to sources, Ahmed may have accidentally slipped from a hillock amid the adverse weather conditions. However, this possibility has not been confirmed, and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear.

Police and security forces have launched a search operation to trace the missing SPO and recover his weapon.

Further details are awaited as the operation continues.
