The Ladakh Administration has appointed Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officer Imteeaz Kacho as Deputy Commissioner of the newly created Sankoo district as part of a reshuffle involving three officers.
According to Government Order No. 510-LA(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on October 20, Kacho, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Drass, has been transferred and posted to Sankoo with immediate effect.
The reshuffle follows the creation of Sankoo district through Revenue Department Notification S.O. 284, dated October 16, 2026.
Zahida Bano, JKAS, who was serving as Director of Social and Tribal Welfare in the Union Territory of Ladakh, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Drass in place of Kacho.
Meanwhile, Tsering Paldan, JKAS, Director of School Education, Ladakh, has been assigned the additional charge of Director of Social and Tribal Welfare alongside his existing responsibilities until further orders.
