Examiner News Desk | Srinagar:

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has married journalist Nidhi Razdan, with the couple announcing the news through personal posts on social media on Saturday, bringing an end to speculation surrounding their relationship.

Abdullah shared photographs with Razdan on his social media account, accompanying them with a brief but significant message: “A new journey began yesterday 💍”, while tagging her in the post. The message indicated that the wedding took place on Friday, October 30.

Razdan also acknowledged the development through a post on X, writing, “It’s done bro 💍” and tagging the Chief Minister. The two posts, accompanied by photographs and ring emojis, provided public confirmation of their marriage.

The announcement quickly attracted widespread attention, with political leaders, public figures and social media users extending congratulations and best wishes to the couple.

The wedding marks a new chapter in the personal life of Abdullah, who continues to lead the Jammu and Kashmir Government. Razdan is a well-known journalist and television news anchor, recognised for her coverage of national politics and international affairs.

The development comes three months after the Supreme Court, on July 31, 2026, dissolved Abdullah’s marriage to Payal Abdullah by mutual consent. The couple, who married in 1994, had been living separately for several years and have two sons.

The announcement has generated considerable interest across Jammu and Kashmir, with the Chief Minister’s personal milestone drawing attention well beyond the political sphere.
