Examiner Bureau | Srinagar: In a decisive move to curb alleged militant influence within government institutions, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has terminated two employees over suspected links with banned terror organisations, official sources said.
The dismissed individuals have been identified as Farhat Ali Khanday and Muhammad Shafi Dar.
According to officials, Khanday, a Class-IV employee in the Education Department in Ramban district, was allegedly functioning as a key facilitator for the banned outfit Hizbul Mujahideen. Meanwhile, Dar, who was posted in the Rural Development Department in Bandipora, was identified as an alleged associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Sources indicated that the action was taken following detailed investigations and in line with the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its support networks. The terminations were ordered by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir as part of ongoing efforts to ensure integrity and security within public service institutions.
Officials reiterated that the government remains committed to taking strict action against individuals found to be involved in activities that threaten public safety and national security, while continuing to strengthen vigilance mechanisms across departments.
