Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that the government remains firmly committed to ensuring that incidents like the Pahalgam terror attack are never repeated in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister described the day as deeply painful, recalling the victims who lost their lives while visiting the region. “Today is a very painful day for all of us as we remember the tragic incident of Pahalgam. We remember those innocent people who were targeted by terrorists while on vacation and lost their precious lives,” he said.

He noted that the tragedy continues to weigh heavily on the collective conscience of the region. “We are still in grief,” he added.

Reaffirming the government’s resolve, Omar Abdullah said that a firm decision was taken after the attack to strengthen preventive measures. “Our complete effort remains focused on ensuring that such incidents do not happen again,” he said.

He emphasized that the responsibility of preventing such acts of violence lies collectively with all stakeholders, including the elected government, the central government, and law enforcement agencies. “Only through coordinated efforts can we ensure safety and security,” he added.
