Anantnag Police on Friday carried out a major anti-narcotics operation, conducting simultaneous raids at 15 locations across the district to curb illegal cultivation of narcotic crops.

Officials said the operation targeted individuals involved in narco cultivation, with standing crops being identified and destroyed on the spot. Legal action has also been initiated against those found involved in the illegal activity.

The drive was conducted with the assistance of civil departments, including the revenue and agriculture departments, to ensure proper identification and removal of illicit crops.

Police said the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to eliminate drug-related activities in the district and reaffirmed their commitment to strict enforcement against those involved in narcotics cultivation and trafficking.
