Anantnag Police has taken strict departmental action against an Investigating Officer (IO) of Police Station Anantnag for failing to adhere to mandatory procedures during an investigation.
The case pertains to an incident involving vandalisation and assault on medical staff, registered under FIR No. 118/2026 at Police Station Anantnag. During the course of the investigation, four individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement in the crime.
However, it was found that the concerned IO did not comply with the mandatory legal requirements while carrying out the arrests of the accused.
Taking serious note of the procedural lapse, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure (IPS), placed the officer under suspension.
Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability and transparency in all investigative processes.
