Examiner Bureau | Srinagar:

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday launched a major campaign in Srinagar aimed at tackling drug abuse and narco-terrorism, reaffirming the administration’s resolve to eliminate the growing menace from Jammu and Kashmir.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, seeks to intensify efforts to curb the spread of narcotics, dismantle drug networks and counter the emerging threat of narco-terrorism in the region.

Officials said the campaign will involve coordinated action by law enforcement agencies, targeted awareness drives and strict surveillance to identify and take action against drug peddlers and organised networks.

Emphasising the importance of collective responsibility, Sinha urged youth, civil society groups and community leaders to actively participate in the fight against drugs. He reiterated that the administration will adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards those involved in drug trafficking and related activities.

The campaign forms part of a broader strategy by the Jammu and Kashmir administration to build a drug-free society and safeguard the future of its youth.
