Anantnag, May 16: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, on Friday briefed the media regarding the commencement of the initial phase of Census 2027, announcing that the House Listing and Self-Enumeration exercise will officially begin across the district on May 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM.
Addressing the media, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of accurate and comprehensive data collection for effective governance, developmental planning and welfare initiatives. He appealed to residents to extend full cooperation to the enumeration teams and actively participate in the self-enumeration process to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the census exercise.
“Your participation shapes the development of our country,” the Deputy Commissioner said, urging citizens to provide correct information during the survey process.
Officials said the census exercise will play a crucial role in policy formulation, infrastructure planning and allocation of resources for public welfare and development programmes across the district and the country.
