A motorcyclist lost his life after his motorcycle collided with a passenger bus near Jakhani on the Udhampur-Chenani road on Wednesday, officials said.
According to reports, the motorcycle bearing registration number PB-54K-1627 was involved in a collision with a bus bearing registration number JK-02BR-3058 while travelling towards Udhampur from Chenani.
The motorcycle rider sustained critical injuries in the accident and died on the spot, officials said.
Traffic police personnel rushed to the scene soon after the incident and shifted the body to District Hospital Udhampur for medico-legal formalities.
Police sources said a case has been registered in connection with the accident, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the collision.
