Examiner Bureau | Baramulla:

At least ten persons were injured, including one critically, after a newly constructed bridge on the under-construction bypass road in Baramulla collapsed just hours after its completion.

The injured were immediately rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla for treatment. Among them, one person sustained serious spinal injuries and was subsequently referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised medical care.

The collapse of the newly built structure has sparked concerns over the quality and safety standards of the construction work. Authorities are expected to initiate an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances and possible lapses that led to the incident.

Further details are awaited as officials continue to assess the situation.
