Pahalgam, July 2: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday visited the Nunwan Frisking Point in Pahalgam to review the security and facilitation arrangements put in place for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
During the visit, the DGP inspected the frisking point and assessed the security infrastructure, access control mechanisms, deployment of personnel and overall arrangements aimed at ensuring the safety and convenience of pilgrims.
Interacting with police officers and security personnel deployed at the site, Prabhat directed them to maintain the highest standards of vigilance while ensuring that security checks remain efficient, thorough and pilgrim-friendly to facilitate the smooth movement of yatris.
He underscored the importance of close coordination among the police, other security agencies and the civil administration to ensure the pilgrimage is conducted in a safe, peaceful and hassle-free manner.
The DGP also commended the dedication and professionalism of police personnel and other security forces deployed on Yatra duty. He urged them to remain alert, responsive and courteous in the discharge of their responsibilities, while extending timely assistance and support to pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.
