KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir Division

Maintenance work on 33 KV transmission lines to affect parts of Srinagar, Anantnag and Sopore on July 16, 19, 21 and 25.

The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Monday announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of the Kashmir Valley to facilitate maintenance work on various 33 KV transmission lines.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, power supply will remain affected in the following areas:

  • July 16 (8:00 am to 2:00 pm): A shutdown of the 33 KV Wanpoh–Ashajipora/Malaknag Double Circuit line will affect power supply to Ashajipora, Dialgam, Rohu, Mirbazar, Schichen, Brinty, Malaknag, Reshi Bazar, Janglatmandi, Shirpora, BB Nowgam, Thajiwara, Brakpora and adjoining areas.
  • July 19 (8:00 am to 2:00 pm): A shutdown of the 33 KV Khonmoh–SIDCO 1st Line/Balhama line will disrupt electricity supply to Befina, Balhama, Zafran Colony, Wuyan, Khonmoh, Checksangri, JKAP, TCI, Old Cement Plant and nearby areas.
  • July 21 and July 25 (8:00 am to 2:00 pm): A shutdown of the 33 KV Amargarh–Nowpora line will affect Nowpora, Seelo, Achabal, Behrampora, Bomai, Bugoo and adjoining areas.

KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, stating that the shutdowns are essential to carry out maintenance works and ensure reliable power supply.
