Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has summoned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to meet for its autumn session in Srinagar from September 21, 2026.
The decision follows a recommendation of the Jammu and Kashmir Council of Ministers. LG Sinha issued the order in exercise of the powers vested in him under Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.
With the Assembly now formally summoned, the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will finalise the calendar of business and schedule of sittings for the session.
The autumn sitting is expected to provide an important platform for the elected government to take up legislative and administrative matters, besides discussions on issues concerning the Union Territory.
The session will also offer members an opportunity to raise matters of public importance and seek clarifications from the government on various policy and developmental issues.
Further details regarding the duration of the session and the business to be taken up will be reflected in the final calendar to be issued by the Speaker.
