Examiner Bureau | Kishtwar:
The Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kishtwar has terminated the services of an HDF sanitation worker following his arrest in connection with the death of a minor girl in the Chatroo area.
According to an official order issued on August 26, 2026, Farooq Ahmed, son of Sunaullah and a resident of Sangrambhata, Kishtwar, was arrested by Police Station Chatroo on the same day in connection with FIR No. 34/2026.
The case has been registered under Sections 61(1), 65(2), 90, 91 and 92 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 and 17 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Hospital authorities said they received formal information regarding Ahmed’s arrest from the Station House Officer of Police Station Chatroo through a wireless signal dated August 26.
Taking note of the “extremely grave and serious” nature of the allegations and offences, the Medical Superintendent observed that Ahmed’s continued association with the hospital was incompatible with the discipline, integrity, reputation and proper functioning of a public health institution.
Accordingly, the hospital authorities ordered the immediate termination of his services as an HDF Sanitation Worker at District Hospital Kishtwar.
The action comes as police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the minor girl in the Chatroo area.
The allegations remain subject to investigation and any subsequent judicial proceedings.
