Panchayat Secretary Suspended in Doda Over Corruption Allegations

Rural Development Department orders inquiry after video alleging corruption surfaces on social media

The Directorate of Rural Development Department, Jammu, has suspended a Panchayat Secretary posted in Block Jakayas of Doda district following the circulation of a video on social media alleging corruption.

According to an official order, Chanchal Singh, Panchayat Secretary, Block Jakayas, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect pending an inquiry into the allegations.

During the suspension period, Singh has been attached to the office of the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Udhampur, the order stated.

The department has appointed Neeraj Sharma, JKAS, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Kishtwar, as the Inquiry Officer to conduct a detailed investigation into the allegations.

Sharma has been directed to examine the matter, record detailed findings and submit the inquiry report, along with specific recommendations, within 15 days.

The suspension and inquiry have been ordered in view of the allegations circulating on social media, with further action to be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
