A 40-year-old man died after suffering an electric shock at his home in the Keegam area of Pulwama district on Saturday.
An official said Showkat Ahmad Rather, 40, son of Bashir Ahmad Rather and a resident of Keegam, suffered an electric shock at his residence.
He was immediately shifted to District Hospital Pulwama in an unconscious condition. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival, the official said. The incident was also reported by local media on Saturday.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the fatal electrocution.
