An elderly woman died following an alleged scuffle with her daughter-in-law in the Bonibagh Cherwan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday evening, reports said.
According to the reports, the woman was rushed to Kangan Hospital in a critical condition following the alleged altercation. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the cause of the woman’s death.
A police official, speaking anonymously, said the investigation was underway and further details would be shared after completion of the required legal formalities.
