Two boys from Srinagar, who went missing after reportedly losing their way while trekking in the forest area of Rayil Gund in Kangan, central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, have been traced and brought back safely.
An official said teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) unit at Gund, Gund Police Station and the Dial 112 emergency response unit launched a search operation on Thursday evening after receiving information about the missing boys.
The boys had reportedly contacted the Dial 112 emergency helpline after losing their way in the forest while trekking, prompting the teams to initiate a search.
Both boys were subsequently traced and brought safely to Gund Police Station, the official said.
Officials said the boys were being questioned, while further details about the incident were awaited.
