The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has posted 2007-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer Govind Jaiswal to the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the cadre following his repatriation from Central deputation.
According to an order issued by the ministry, the posting will take effect immediately and remain in force until further orders.
“Consequent upon his repatriation from the Central deputation, Govind Jaiswal, IAS (AGMUT: 2007) is hereby posted to Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT Cadre with immediate effect and until further orders,” the order stated.
Jaiswal previously served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education under the Union Ministry of Education. His repatriation marks the end of his Central deputation, with his next assignment to be in the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre.
Jaiswal is also known for his personal journey from modest beginnings in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. His father worked as a rickshaw puller, and he secured an All India Rank of 48 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination on his first attempt.
His posting to Jammu and Kashmir comes as part of the administrative arrangements within the AGMUT cadre following the completion of his Central deputation.
