The District Bar Association Anantnag on Tuesday conducted elections for key office-bearer positions, including President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer, for a one-year term.
Ishfaq Ahmad Mir was elected President of the Bar Association, while Sameer Ahmad Khan was elected Secretary. Other members were also elected to various positions in the association.
Addressing the occasion, a spokesperson for the Bar Association said the posts were not meant for salaries or personal benefits but carried the responsibility of serving the people across the district.
The spokesperson said the newly elected body would strive to discharge its responsibilities effectively, with a focus on public service and the welfare of the people.
Meanwhile, the Election Officer of the District Bar Association Anantnag expressed gratitude to the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Judge Sam Qayoom, SSP Anantnag Amod Nagpuri, DySP Headquarters Syed Mujahid-ul-Haq, DySP CID, SHO Sadar Anantnag Parvaiz Ahmad, and former SHO Sadar Anantnag Riyaz Ahmad for their cooperation and support in ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of the elections.
