Examiner Bureau | Jammu:

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday directed newly appointed ministers to immediately review the functioning of their respective departments, accelerate ongoing development projects and ensure time-bound redressal of public grievances.

Soon after the reopening of government offices in Jammu under the Darbar Move arrangement, Abdullah chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Civil Secretariat to assess administrative functioning and set priorities for the coming months.

According to the Office of the Chief Minister, Abdullah emphasised the need to speed up the execution of ongoing development projects, particularly as the working season approaches its end. He asked ministers and departments to closely monitor project progress and ensure that implementation does not suffer due to administrative delays.

The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of adequate winter preparedness, directing departments to ensure sufficient stocks of essential commodities, especially in remote and far-flung areas that often face difficulties during the winter months.

Highlighting the need for responsive and effective governance, Abdullah called for time-bound, people-centric budgetary planning. He directed departments to formulate budget proposals in accordance with public needs and aspirations, with a focus on addressing pressing development requirements.

The directions come as the administration resumes operations in Jammu for the winter period following the seasonal relocation of government offices from Srinagar under the Darbar Move.

The Chief Minister’s emphasis on departmental reviews, project execution and winter preparedness is aimed at ensuring continuity in governance and improving public service delivery during the winter session.
