Examiner Bureau | Srinagar:
The Rural Water Supply Division Ganderbal under the Jammu and Kashmir Jal Shakti Department has announced a temporary suspension of potable drinking water supply across major parts of Ganderbal district and several rural areas of Srinagar from April 25 to April 27, owing to scheduled repair works on the Sindh Power Canal.
According to an urgent public notice issued by the Executive Engineer, the shutdown is necessitated by Phase-II repair works on the Sindh Power Canal being carried out by the authorities in Ganderbal between April 25 and April 26. During this period, the supply of raw water to all dependent water treatment plants and schemes will remain completely suspended.
As a result, drinking water supply in the affected areas will remain disrupted from 6:00 AM on April 25 until 6:00 AM on April 27.

In Ganderbal district, the disruption will impact several areas including Ganderbal Town, Nagbal, Rangil, Nunner, Gutlibagh, Wayil, Nadirbagh, Tulamulla, Kachan, Shalbugh, Gojigund, and adjoining localities.
In the rural belt of Srinagar, areas likely to face water shortages include Gulab Bagh, Zakura, Habak, Shuhama, Chatterhama, Khimber, Syedpora, Wanihama, Batapora, Palpora, and nearby localities.
Authorities have advised residents to store sufficient water in advance to manage the temporary disruption. Officials also assured that water supply will be restored immediately after the completion of the repair works.
