Examiner Bureau | Srinagar:

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday expressed deep sorrow over the death of three workers in a bridge collapse incident at Bantalab on the outskirts of Jammu city.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.

Abdullah has directed that a thorough inquiry be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of the collapse and to fix responsibility for any lapses.

According to reports, a portion of a small bridge in the Bantalab area collapsed while labourers were carrying out repair work on a retaining wall, trapping them under the debris and leading to the fatalities.
