12-Year-Old Boy Dies in Fire at Darul Uloom in Anantnag

Three Other Students Injured After Blaze Erupts at Religious Seminary in Mattan Area

A 12-year-old boy lost his life while three others sustained injuries after a massive fire broke out at a Darul Uloom in south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Tuesday, officials said.

According to officials, the fire erupted at Faizan Baba Hyder Rishi Darul Uloom in the Old Mattan Adda area, triggering panic and prompting an immediate rescue operation.

Four boys suffered burn injuries in the incident and were shifted to Government Medical College Anantnag for treatment. However, one of the injured later succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased was identified as Bilal Ahmad, 12, son of Mohammad Akbar and a resident of Wadwan. The injured students have been identified as Sabit Fayaz and Sahil Ahmad, both residents of Sangaldan, and Irfan Ahmad of Pahalgam.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further investigation is underway.
