The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday ordered the promotion of five officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) to the Selection Grade in Level-12 pay scale (₹78,800–₹2,09,200).
According to Government Order No. 924-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated May 15, 2026, the promotions were approved in line with Council of Ministers Decision No. 056/06/2026 dated April 30, 2026.
The officers promoted include Prince Noorul Hamid, Mazahir Hussain Shah, Peerzada Farhat Ahmed, Arun Kumar Badyal, and Syed Nadeem Iqbal Andrabi.
As per the order, Prince Noorul Hamid has been granted promotion on a notional basis with effect from December 5, 2024, while Mazahir Hussain Shah has been given notional promotion from September 26, 2025. The remaining three officers have been promoted with prospective effect.
The order further stated that Prince Noorul Hamid has been designated as Additional Secretary in his respective department, while the other promoted officers will continue at their present postings until further orders.
