KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdown in Several Srinagar Areas

Maintenance Work on 33 kV Transmission Lines to Affect Electricity Supply on May 19, 21 and June 1

The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced a planned shutdown of the 33 kV KP Bagh line and 33 kV Exhibition line on May 19, May 21 and June 1, 2026, which will lead to temporary disruption of power supply in several areas of Srinagar.

According to an official communication, electricity supply will remain affected from 10 am to 3:30 pm on the specified dates due to scheduled maintenance works on the transmission lines.

Areas likely to witness power disruption include KP Bagh, Soiteng, PHE, Mehjoor Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Kursoo Rajbagh, Rajbagh Bund, Rajbagh, Gogjibagh, Museum and adjoining localities.

KPDCL said the shutdown has been scheduled to facilitate essential maintenance and upgrading works aimed at ensuring reliable power supply and improved system efficiency.

Consumers residing in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance to minimise inconvenience during the shutdown period.
