According to a police spokesperson, the accused have been identified as Dharambir, a resident of Sheikhpur village in Haryana’s Hisar district, and his wife, Jhanki Devi. The couple is alleged to have been involved in a murder committed in Uttarakhand on June 20 before fleeing to Jammu and Kashmir in an attempt to evade arrest.
Acting on specific intelligence, a local police team traced the couple to a hotel in Katra and arrested them.
The spokesperson said the concerned police station in Uttarakhand was immediately informed. After completing the necessary legal formalities, both accused were handed over to the Uttarakhand Police for further investigation and legal action.
Police said the operation reflects effective coordination between law enforcement agencies in tracking and apprehending fugitives across state boundaries.
