The investigation into the Ketan Agarwal murder case reached a crucial stage on Sunday as Pune Police took both accused to Lohagad Fort to recreate the crime scene, sources said.
According to sources, the accused were brought to the fort early in the morning under tight security as investigators began reconstructing the alleged sequence of events. The exercise is aimed at verifying statements recorded during the investigation and gathering additional evidence.
Sources added that access to Lohagad Fort has been temporarily restricted during the reconstruction, with tourists and other visitors barred from entering the premises until the exercise is completed.
The crime scene reconstruction is considered a significant step in the investigation as police attempt to establish the precise sequence of events leading to Ketan Agarwal’s death.
Earlier in the day, police seized the motorcycle allegedly used by co-accused Chetan Chaudhary to travel from Pune to Lohagad Fort.
According to the police, Chetan allegedly played a key role in persuading Siya Goyal, Ketan Agarwal’s fiancée, to carry out the murder. Investigators claim the two first met during a cricket match organised by Siya’s brother and subsequently developed a romantic relationship.
Purported Video of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary Surfaces
Meanwhile, a purported video that has gone viral on social media allegedly shows Siya Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary seated together in the spectators’ stand during a cricket match. The two appear to be watching the match while engaged in conversation.
The video surfaced amid the ongoing investigation, with police seeking to establish the timeline and nature of the relationship between Siya and Chetan. Investigators believe the two were acquainted well before Siya’s engagement to Ketan Agarwal.
According to Pune Police, Siya and Chetan’s relationship first came to the attention of her family after they were allegedly seen together at the cricket match. Investigators further allege that despite becoming aware of the relationship, the family proceeded with Siya’s marriage to Ketan Agarwal, purportedly influenced by the Agarwal family’s financial standing.
Police have identified these allegations as key aspects of the investigation as they continue to piece together the events leading up to the alleged murder. The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations are yet to be tested in court.
