Nine persons, including eight personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and a civilian driver, were injured after a bus skidded off the road near Tarakote in Reasi district on Sunday, officials said.
According to a senior police officer, the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon when a bus belonging to the 572 CISF Company (registration number JK08D-5992), carrying CISF personnel, reportedly lost control and skidded off the road.
The injured have been identified as Head Constables Sammy Kumar, M.M. Dubey and A. Ramesh; Constables P.K. Traya, B.D. Singh, B. Srinu and Pratyush; Sub-Inspector Shiv Charan Meena; and the civilian driver, Virender Singh.
Officials said Head Constables Sammy Kumar and M.M. Dubey, along with Constable P.K. Traya, were referred to Narayana Hospital after receiving initial treatment at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu.
The remaining injured are undergoing treatment and are reported to be under medical care. Police said the exact cause of the accident is being investigated.
